Sagittarius, a masculine and fire sign, is ruled by the planet  Jupiter. This sign is symbolized by the centaur, half horse, half man, drawing a bow from which an arrow is about to dart. These people have zest for the good life and as they mature, their bodies become corpulent.

They take an active interest in sports and outdoor activities from earliest youth upward. They make great athletes.

The expression of both sexes is apt to be vivacious, laughing, and sunny. In disposition they are jovial in manner cordial. Their passions are healthy, spontaneous and without inhibition. In speech they are frank and outspoken, stating their likes and dislikes rather too freely. They discuss their feelings loudly and are very fluent and colorful in expression.

They have almost as many accidents as the Aries people, because of their enthusiastic energy and self forgetfulness. They are prone to fevers for they drive themselves to the peak of activity and continue to work long after another person would have recognized the signs of illness and quit. They also tend to suffer from nervous indigestion.

Sagittarius rules the hips and thighs. Later in life, high blood pressure, rheumatism and sciatica are possible. Despite the many susceptibilities of this sign, it is one of the old age signs of the Zodiac.

The Sagittarian intellect is of a very high quality. The Sagittarian mind is mature, farseeing, and practically imaginative. They have the kind of vision that understands the world and loves it for what it is and not for what it ought to be. They are very broad-minded, tolerant, humorous and truthful. They are big hearted, understanding and entirely lacking in malice or petty jealousies.

Maturity and  success do not come early to the Sagittarian. They fulfill their mission as great thinkers and teachers in every walk of life. They have always made wonderful teachers, writers and journalists. They are particularly well equipped to be lecturers and public speakers. Many Sagittarians are princes of commerce and great financiers. They are splendid politicians, philosophers, and  make great clergyman.

Sometimes, the Sagittarian is too much of a philosopher for modern organized religion. He is apt to question religious theories, and  religious assumptions.

The whole world interests these people so much so that it is hard for them to settle down to domestic life. They are not jealous, and will not endure the supervision of domestic life. They do not value personal, possessive love as highly as universal love. They need lot of freedom and space when they are involved in close relationships. They are, however, very loyal to their family and friends.

Sagittarians get along well with other fire signs such as Leo and Aries. Virgos are too plodding and Pisces too emotional for them.  Geminis are complementary, but they tend to aggravate Sagittarians. Air signs-Libra and Aquarius spark them up to action.
