                                    SCORPIO  &  HEALTH

                                    October 24 to November 22

     Ruling Planet:   Pluto-(Co-ruler--Mars)***Element:   Water***Modality:  Fixed***Sign:   Feminine

Pluto, the planet ruling Scorpio, is associated with life, death, and renewal, so it is not surprising that the sign governs the genitals and the libido. Parts of the body ruled by Scorpio include the colon, bladder, prostrate gland, reproductive organs, genitals and rectum. The planet, Pluto, governs the endocrine system.

Health ailments include hemorrhoids, sexually transmitted diseases, cystitis, urinary tract infections, bowel disorders (constipation), colon,  hernia, bladder infections, prostrate and ovarian difficulties, pelvic disorders, painful menstruation and genital herpes. Back problems, a stiff neck and torn ligaments are common problems due to the reflect action of the other fixed signs( Taurus-stiff neck, Leo-heart-back, Aquarius--ligaments).

Scorpios greatest fear is not being in control with sex being a central issue. This fear creates a secretive and brooding disposition. They find it difficult to express sadness, anger, trepidation or even love for fear that their overwhelming emotions may force them to loose control. Learning to confront problems by discussing them openly can prevent unnecessary stress, phobias, and ,more extreme, paranoia. When they experience disappointments, Scorpios have a tendency to engage in compulsive and self-destructive behavior including compulsive gambling, chronic overeating, alcoholism or drug addiction. They should try to ward off their tendency toward the "dark moods" and the potential for long-term depression. They should walk briskly or run for a half hour each day  which will release endorphins and help them relax. Calling a trusted friend or a therapist  would help too.

A fixed water sign and governing the 8th. house of the Zodiac, Scorpio natives are intense and passionate. They have a tendency to overwork which keeps them on the go for hours without exercising the bowels. Long-term health problems can result if this habit becomes chronic. Scorpios tend to push themselves beyond their limits. Ailments of the colon and bowels become chronic. A well-balanced diet that includes fiber-rich foods such as unprocessed bran, whole-grain breads, and fresh fruits and vegetables is recommended. Also Scorpios should drink plenty of liquids and exercise regularly to stimulate intestinal activity.

A a water sign, natives of this sign have a tendency to retain water and should make every effort to reduce the intake of salt.

Scorpios like intense and strenuous activities as a way to stay in shape and to release both physical and emotional tension. After such activity, they should really relax and let their muscles and nerves unwind themselves. Their intestines and colon would function better if they did so.

For chronic constipation, Senna is a good supplement to use but only as a on-time use. Siberian Ginseng is very good for an outbreak of genital herpes. Also use mineral Zinc, Vitamin C, and Echinacea, all supplements that boost up the immune system. Zinc disrupts the replication of the herpes virus by keeping it from going into its reproductive cycle. Psyllium fiber supplement  is also good for Scorpios.

Herbs of this sign are basil, tarragon, and wormwood. Herbs recommended for treating Scorpio complaints are:

           1.   Ginseng for impotence

           2.   Ginseng, fenugreek, and jasmine for low libido

           3.   Ginseng and pumpkin seeds for male low fertility

           4.   Slippery elm and witch hazel for genitourinary ailments

A well-functioning colon is essential for good health for Scorpios!

Light-colored stones like opal and topaz can elevate your moods and provide the optimism which often eludes you. Wear them around your neck, against your skin, if possible.
