 New Moon--August 1 @ 9°- 32' Leo -- Time: 6:13 a.m.  EDT--Total Solar Eclipse

Full Moon--August 16 @ 24°- 21' Aquarius--  Time: 5:18 p.m.  EDT--Partial Lunar Eclipse

New Moon--August 30 @7° Virgo--Time: 3:58 p.m. EDT (Referred to as the "Blue Moon")

      A total solar eclipse occurs on the 1st. Eclipses have a tendency to intensify situations. What happens on the day of the eclipse is very fated and its effect can last a long time. It's best not to make  any major decision during an eclipse time as later on new information may come up to alter your decision. The week prior or after the eclipse is the time for being cautious. If you were born with a Sun at 9° Leo your birthday is very special indeed and you will have a very eventful year.
Wherever nine degrees falls in your birth chart is the area where you will focus for the next six months.

     Two weeks later, on the 16th,  there is a partial lunar eclipse at 24°Aquarius. If you have a planet near 24° Aquarius or Leo, you will be especially affected by this eclipse. Aquarius has to do with detachment and during the next six months, we are having to look and view situations in an impartial, impersonal and unemotional manner. Our concern and compassion for humanity in general will be our main focus.

     Mars in Virgo oppose Uranus (@22° Virgo/Pisces) during the first part of the month. The aspect is exact on the 6th. We are apt to act with impatience. We want to achieve a great deal in a systematic manner but we keep meeting unexpected opposing forces along the way. It may be best to step back and relax a bit and wait for a more opportune time to push forward with our plans or find a different method to achieve our goals. It's gains us nothing to bat our head against an immovable force! Something or someone has to give in for things to happen.

     There are two New Moon's this month, one on the 1st and one on the 30th. So you have two POWER DAYS  to work with. Remember to always start a new endeavor or project on a New Moon Day and watch it grow till the next New Moon. The one on the 1st is in the sign of Leo, so on that day make a small list of goals that you would  like to achieve. Leo governs the following areas: creativity, children, gambling, risk taking, fun, joy, love etc. The New Moon on the 30th is in the sign of Virgo, so make a list on this day too. Virgo rules order, organization, health, diet, routine exercise, service, small pets, job, etc. Make a small list of goals that you wish to achieve on both of the New Moon days.

     Venus conjoins Saturn in Virgo for part of this month (exact on the 13th @ 9° Virgo). In relationships we are in for the long term. We hope to get what we need and give in equal measure. Their is a practical component to our social life and aims. We also get serious about improving our appearance and health.

     Mars squares Pluto (@28°Virgo/Sagittarius) on the 17th. It will be easy to engage in a confrontation with a person who irks you. Try to delay it and maybe you will not have to engage in one.

     On the 23rd Venus opposes Uranus at 21°Virgo/Pisces. You feel restless and wish for a more exciting life. You can divert yourself with a passing flirtation or by a current mate.

     On the 27th. Mercury squares Pluto in Sagittarius (@28°Virgo/Sagittarius). We are obsessive concerning our thoughts. It's very easy with this aspect to get into a verbal power struggle with someone who's determined to win an argument. Try to back off and see if you can look at the situation more objectively.  

     Venus squares Pluto at 28°Virgo/Sagittarius on the 29th. You may not be clear about a loved one's intentions. Ask for clarity of their intentions for the future if you feel insecure about the relationship. Never hurts to ask!
