MOON AND
MOON IN SIGNS
The half circle is the symbol of the personality. The moon in the sky has no light of its own but must shine by the reflected light of the sun. The moon makes a complete transit of the Zodiac every 27 days, 7hours and 43 minutes. In other words, it makes one complete revolution through the horoscope of every individual in that length of time. It rules the sign of Cancer and is the natural ruler of the fourth house.
On earth, the gravitational pull of the Moon produces two tides, while the water's waves rise and fall. The lunar orb alternates between waxing and waning phases, symbolizing the dual processes of growth and decay. Similarly, man is swayed by his moon-ruled feelings which ebb and flow like the sea, fluctuating with every change in circumstances and giving rise to pleasurable sensations.
The Sun is the conscious and the Moon is the unconscious side of the personality. Moon is passive, feminine, and receptive. It represents the fertile realm of matter which cherishes, nourishes, and sustains the solar seed of life. It indicates where one has been and what he is trying to overcome. The Moon serves the Sun and acts as a filter through which the Sun sign is distributed. Moon is fate somewhat as one is obliged to accept that he is bound to his instinctive reactions.
The sign and house placement of the Moon in the horoscope is where we feel the sense of nurturance deprivation. Where the moon is we feel deprived , the individual personality which we think we are and believe that our mother failed to nurture it. The moon is the psychological need of the personality. One finds security through the fulfillment of these needs.
Within the horoscope, the moon discloses how a person's inner feelings are in accord with his environment. The Sun/Moon relationship is a particularly sensitive indicator of the extent to which an individual is in harmony with his environment. Moon symbolizes the ability to adjust to the ever-changing challenges, pressures, and opportunities of daily existence.
In a personal chart, the Moon represents the personality, subconscious self, feelings and receptivity, memory, habit and patterns of the past, and breast and stomach in the physical body. It is your disposition, your moods and your fan.
A well-placed, well-aspected Moon is the best indication of a pleasing and popular personality. If the moon is well aspected, the senses are keen, accurate and acute. Well aspected Moon is good for the sight in the left eye. Moon badly aspected can make a person lazy, stupid, careless and overly fond of alcohol. It is also bad for sight in the left eye, digestion and body fluids.
If the Moon in your birth chart suffers from bad aspects, you will find it a struggle to get along with people all of your life. When the Sun and Moon are not harmonious, the life is filled with conflict, and success often just passes by.
The Moon's
position is of special importance to a man because it represents the way he is
affected by the
women in his life. If favorable, his wife, his mother and his daughters will be
beneficial to him. If favorable for a woman, the other women with whom she
associates with will react to her favorably.
Moon aspecting Venus unfavorably usually makes a person heartless. This person does not consider other people's feelings and is not sympathetic to them. He tends to be unfeeling and cold in all of his relationships.
Moon in bad aspect to Saturn dulls the senses. The hearing or eyes may be defective. Also this aspect causes natives to have more colds and dental problems. It also hardens the feelings making a person rather "cold".
Moon in good aspect to Uranus gives a magnetic personality and electric in its impact on others. Their sense of sound and rhythm is well developed, and they have outstanding talent for music. They impress others with their daring and originality. Uranus in bad aspect to the Moon makes a person rebellious and temperamental. Their music is discordant and loud. They are careless and noisy and people are usually relieved when they leave.
If you have have a charming personality, with the ability to weave spells and seem mysterious and elusive all at once, then your Moon is in good aspect to Neptune. If you are easily confused and impractical in your notions, if you daydream but rarely try to realize your dreams, if your moral fiber is not all it should be, chances are your Moon adversely aspects Neptune.
