Moon in Virgo:     Ruler: Mercury

    The sign Virgo, ruled by the planet Mercury that rules the  mind, accentuates the coldness of the Moon. These natives are very practical and down-to-earth types. They are very fastidious with regards to their impressions of people and things, analyzing and criticizing them with extreme care. They are fussy with big and little details.

     They are genuinely anxious to acquire knowledge but at the same time they still hang on to some very strong prejudices.
They are ambitious and gravitate to mathematical work (accountancy), scientific research, medical practice, and teaching. Virgo after all is an earth sign which makes these people very practical and earthy.

     These natives are never really pleased with anything. Life is a always difficult for them. Their constant criticism and continual description of the physical environment results in their unhappiness with life. The Moon in Virgo man or woman is a quiet , reserved being, thoughtful and intellectual in a cool, precise, and unimaginative way. They are both very capable in the practical pursuits chosen by them as life work. They are not people of vast dimensions along any  lines , but the quality of their mind is good. The Virgo Moon makes her subject a very plain individual, full of trifling thoughts and many small virtues.

     The love nature of both sexes under this lunation barely exists. They are grave, sexless people, with a cool, impersonal chastity that seems to be a part of the moon's very nature. They have no sexual curiosity and appear to be without any understanding as to the whole  meaning of sex. They want  no contact with its intimacies or its outpouring of self. At heart they are cold and selfish people. The women also seem to lack romantic sentiments and are very clever and calculating when dealing with men. These women make good house managers as they are so practical and clever, but add not much to the "happiness" of the home. 

     Despite the coldness of this Moon, these natives are fairly popular people. They have many friends and their activities in clubs or neighborhood work takes up a lot of their available time. If they marry (and some do), they make careful painstaking wives and husbands, very dutiful, but completely uninspiring. It is not unusual to find a great many spinsters with this lunation in their natal chart. They make good nurses, teachers, secretaries, nutritionists,  and excel in many branches of domestic science. 

     The men that have the moon in the sign of Virgo are just as fussy, old-maidish, and prissy as the women. They are popular with the opposite sex when young as they are meticulous dressers, painstaking in social conduct, and very talkative in public.

     Health is very important to these natives. They have a tendency to go to extremes at times with regards to their well-being. Actually, the health indications of this position (moon in Virgo) are really very good. They usually have hardy and tough constitutions. However, their "mental state" (with Mercury ruling the mind) is a very different matter. These natives are the "hypochondriacs" of the Zodiac. They fancy themselves to be heirs to every ill and doctor themselves a lot.
They are really very healthy people, close to the soil in sturdiness and usually live to a ripe old age.

     Their major illness is intestinal troubles due to Virgo ruling this area of the body. Particularly with an afflicted Moon in Virgo, there comes disturbances of the whole digestive tract. Sometimes they also suffer from strange diseases, little known or understood.  Extreme worry concerning their body causes a lot of their illnesses.
