The scorpion is the symbol of this sign and suggests itself in the disposition and character of Scorpio natives. These people are extremists in every way. They are the most dominant, ruthless, self-willed and autocratic of any Zodiacal types. They are passionate and rebellious, tearing down the tenets of God and Man alike to suit their purpose. They WILL RULE, not with the gracious majesty of a Leo, or even the sharper authority of Aries, but with fierce tyranny of a Czar. It is THEIR WAY or no way.
The enigma of all who understand the Scorpio temperament is this combination of violent qualities with a fine constructive mind. These people have a true comprehension of life, its difficulties, and problems. They are exceedingly astute, and know how to win out in the difficult battle of life. For them everything is a battle. They are often very successful people, of great ability, and high accomplishment.
In the intellectual fields Scorpio people are successful as they are able to grasp and master any subject. Will power and the unconquerable desire to dominate often force them to tackle jobs that others would avoid. . They are thorough, systematic and very capable.
There are two distinct types of Scorpio--the higher or noble type represented by the lofty soaring eagle; the lower type represented by the snake or scorpion. Both types are formidable adversaries. In better types, the expression may be stern but the disposition is kindly.
The higher type has unassailable integrity. He is devoted and high-minded, using his ability to dominate people and situations for the universal good. He is dedicated unselfishly to the advancement of all mankind.
The lower type is sly, secretive and cunning, with diabolical passions and uncontrollable jealousies. When he feels he has been offended, he lusts after revenge. He flies into a rage at the smallest provocation. He is a dangerous opponent as he will take advantage of any weakness and will resort to any means at his disposal, however unfair, to wound his enemy.
Those of you who are Scorpios are generally shrewd and energetic, persistent and capable of hard work. You are indefatigable in the pursuit of a tangible goal or ideal. You are persevering and tenacious where others would tire and fall by the wayside.
Domestically, the Scorpio can be something of a tyrant. He is relatively peaceful as long as you do things his way. Heaven help you if you go against him! He is easily offended and won't rest until the wrong has been avenged.
Scorpios love more passionately than any other sign of the Zodiac. In higher types, it is a noble emotion. The lower types are intensely selfish and possessive. Over indulgence in food, liquor and sex is common. Once aroused, jealousy is all-consuming.
Most Scorpios are too domineering to make the best parents, for they impose their wills relentlessly on their defenseless children.
Scorpios are compatible with other water signs such as Cancer and Pisces and with anyone born with a moon in Scorpio. They should avoid Leos and Taurus if they do not want to engage in contest of will.
