Taurus the "bull" is an earth sign and ruled by the planet, Venus. This type of Venus influence is exceedingly material and places a high value on money, property, position and popularity. They like to be associated with the affluent and popular of the world.

These people love luxury. Their home is usually luxurious, comfortable and restful. Often it is in the country with beautiful surrounding it. Taureans love the country life and you find many farmers under this sign as they love working with the soil of the earth. Many of them have what we call, "the green thumb", as they make excellent gardeners.

The grace of Venus enriches Taurus characters to such an extent that they have the gift of making people welcome so that many seek them out for the warmth of their companionship. One can always  get advice from a Taurus, and when it can be given, concrete financial help too.

People under this sign are not so active mentally unless they have a Mercury in Aries or Gemini (many have Mercury in Taurus).  They do not communicate well in speech and writing, even though they have strong feelings to express. For this reason, they appear to be stolid and phlegmatic.  However, they have a strong fund of practical common sense. They are cautious, constructive and stable. 

The health of Taureans is robust. "Strong as a bull", is an expression that fits Taurus very nicely. To Taurus people illness is a weakness. However, when they do get sick, their have very slow recuperative powers. Being a fixed sign, change of any type is a slow process.

The sign of Taurus rules the throat, neck, shoulders and the base of the brain. If the Sun is afflicted, there can be trouble in any of these areas. Taureans suffer from illness of the throat and contract any complaint affecting that organ. Among the Taurus charms is sometimes found a lovely singing voice. The throat, governed by this sign, frequently gives the world wonderful singers.

Taureans have untold amounts of reserve energy and they are capable of waiting a long time for their plans to materialize. They are the most patient people of all the Zodiac types and will work and wait patiently for anything that they happen to want, especially if it is money or love. Their determination is colossal.

They can at times be overly tenacious and stick to something till it becomes a lost cause. The "bulls" can be very obstinate and even violent when provoked or pushed to do something that they do not want to do. 

Taurus people of both sexes are naturally suited to matrimony. The sense of obligation in a material way never deserts them. They are affectionate people, warm and  loving and the inconsistency of variety does not upset them. Taurus people love food and you will find great cooks under this sign.  Domestic life suits them just fine and usually they are very faithful to their spouses.

Virgos (August 23 to September 24), Capricorn (December 22 to January 20), and those with moon in Taurus are usually very compatible and sympathetic with the Taurus-born.
